 Second Midwife as Assistant

Statistics show that having two trained professionals present in a planned out of hospital birth resulting better outcomes.  Recognizing the wealth of experiences and knowledge a second midwife can bring to the table in your birthing environment is important as it may be exactly the kind of security and safety you're needing to feel for the birth your planning. As a second midwife as assistant, I support and assist your midwife in a clinical role in the birthing environment.  As a Midwife, I do have many years of higher education that would be suited to some birthing environments that may require a little more Midwifery skill & support. However, the addition of a Midwife as an assistant is usually not required or needed by your out-of-hospital midwife.

Most ALL Assistants in our community have advanced training that includes Birth Emergency Skills, current NRP, and Healthcare Provider CPR certifications.

In a community birthing environment, Assistants hold a safe birthing space alongside your Midwife.

This member of your birth team is not your birth doula.

Second Midwife as Assistant include:

  • 1-2 Prenatal in-office visit with your Midwife.

  • One 36/37w Home or Birth Center visit with your Midwife.

    • Labor, birth, and 2-4 hour immediate postpartum attendance or until everyone is comfortable and medically stable.

  • 1 in home postpartum visit complementing your Midwife’s care

Non refundable Deposit - $500

Remaining Amount Due -  $1000 at 36 weeks gestation

Total Cost - $1500

 Birth Consulting

Birth Consulting, a virtual service

Where do I start?

Is your provider the right provider for your goals?

Are you carrying more than 1 baby?

Are you a gestational carrier (surrogate or gestational partner)?

Is this pregnancy after infertility?

Are you an Intended Parent (IP)?

How can my non-gestational partner be involved?

How do you educate yourself? Where? Who? When?

How do you find the best Birth/Postpartum Doula? Do you want or need a Doula?

Nutritional resources and education that would meet your Pregnancy & Postpartum needs.

Have you considered what would happen if you were unexpectedly separated from your baby for medical reasons?

Let's sit down, talk about it and see how we can ease the mental-emotional burden of those concerns.

Together we’ll discuss all the goals for your pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum that includes finding the right support team for your needs & diving into different scenarios that may come up while you labor and give birth, and we’ll craft a personalized, clear and reasonable plan to share with your provider. This service takes place in 2-3 virtual visits.

Total Cost - $500

*Currently done virtually*

 A note about finances:

As a birth professional, it’s my ultimate goal to help birthing parents achieve the experience they desire. Finances should NEVER be something that stands in the way of a safe and supported birth.

If you need special arrangements financially or an extended payment plan, please let me know. I’ll do everything in my power to help you have the birth you desire.

Bartering is still a thing! Lets talk.
